All About Fabric Competitions & Offers Croft Mill Sewing Give Aways

#CroftMillSewandShare Competition – The Winners!

We must begin with an apology because we did say we would announce the winner on the 5th January. Sorry! Secondly we must thank you all of you who took the time to enter your makes, the diversity and quality has been superb. They are all super and we have found it hard to decide on who should win. The diversity of the entries has been the delay and a lesson to us at Croft Mill, for our next ‘sew and share’ we will do a less diverse brief; it has been hard to judge these because they are all so different. We also decided to ask you your thoughts and to let us now which was your favourite so thank you for your response, it has been very interesting. The judges at Croft Mill consisted of Caroline, Carole, Jayne and Rebecca, ages ranging from their 20’s to 70’s a whos sewing skills range from a hugely experienced, to pretty darn good, to beginner.  So without further ado, here are the winners;

1st prize goes to

Valerie Shaw’s Red Period jacket waistcoat and shirt.

Valerie Shaw

We were all very impressed with the impeccable craftsmanship here, both the waistcoat and jacket are lined beautifully, the pleated sleeves in the jacket are set in perfectly and the detailing is just super all the way down to the homemade buttons. There is a huge amount of skilled work in this outfit. Well done Valerie.

2nd prize goes to Jean Wallace

Jean Wallace wedding guest dress via email

We all loved the boldness of this dress, Jean has made this dress to fit perfectly and it has lovely set in sleeves.

3rd prize goes  to Marysia Paling

Red and black prom dress

Marysia

Marysia made this for her daughter and what a lucky daughter she is, this is 1 of 2 entries she made, both are beautiful but this one came in on top because of the boning work and the superb finish.

    Thank you so much to Croftmill for my prize. So thrilled.
    Congratulations to all of the other winners. It was so wonderful to find a competition that was open to those of us in the U.K. You gave us an opportunity to share and see each others work.
    Charlotte ( Lottie) my daughter will be pleased, as it means more fabric to make more items for her…………..couldn’t have done it without her as my model!!
