I had to smile when I saw your skirt pattern designs. It brought back fond memories! My mother used to make these identical circular skirts up for my sister and myself, when we were girls. Living in South Africa, they were always lovely and cool and delightfully feminine!! I think I’ll be getting the sewing machine out!! Thankyou for the nudge!! Sheilagh Courtnage
Many Thanks for your comment, as a fellow South African I know exactly what you mean. I hope you manage to get your machine out and get sewing, many of these patterns are so easy you can create a masterpiece in hours.
I also remember this skirt pattern, my mum also made them for my sister and me, for our dancing class, but they were very short, well above our knees, wouldn’t war them that short now, but the pattern is so useful, thanks.
Hi, I love skirts with lots of material. Can someone please tell me what the pattern is called when the skirt drops down to a v shape and the skirt is gathered on to that. I always thought it was called a drop yoke but have not been successful in finding a pattern.
